Much has happened in the past two years: New and more hardware in me, new ideas, new people, lots of “news”.
The main cabin is once again open for meetings, vacation rentals and workshops. If you’re stressed out, need peace and quiet and long for the healing environment of nature, come surround yourself in the center of this forest. Just close your eyes, the breezes blowing through the trees will make you think you’re hearing the ocean!
Big news: The Red Spirit Retreat is now part of the Old-Growth Forest Network which means that this forest is protected for many years to come. As trees everywhere are being cut down for new developments, roads and general lack of concern, it is more important than ever that we understand how all living things above and below ground benefit from forests. There’s a creative project here at the Red Spirit to educate those who walk these woodland trails and enjoy the many insights and fruits of nature. More details to come.
A new sidewalk graces the barn garden that leads to the screened porch. And the newly painted barn is now blushing purple! Thanks to Julie Siegel, my good friend and landscape designer in Evanston, IL who designed and helped to plant many more native species. The birds and the bees are experiencing more abundance than ever! And who doesn’t enjoy colorful gardens and bird songs rather than busy streets and traffic noise.
More big news! Red Spirit rental discounts are now! November through April you can enjoy all the local activities in Saugatuck, South Haven, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and beyond. We’re all about community and bringing more Oneness into the world.
